font-style: inherit; line-height: 1.625; font-size: 1rem;\">By age 2 years the child:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Does not understand any complex sentences<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Does not use any 2 word combinations<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Cannot identify common objects and pictures when named<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Cannot identify up to 5 body parts<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Does not refer to self by name<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Does not talk about things they are interested in<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Does not understand new words daily<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Does not use up to 50 words<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Does not use any pronouns<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; font-size: 1rem; line-height: 1.714285714;\">By age 3 years the child:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Is not understood by family and\/or caregivers<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Does not use at least 3-6 word combinations<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Cannot repeat when not understood without becoming frustrated<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Does not understand what objects do (function of objects)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Cannot correctly produce vowels<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Cannot correctly produce the sounds p, b, m, and w in words<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Does not understand basic concepts such as little &amp; big, hot &amp; cold<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Does not have a vocabulary of close to 1,000 words<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Does not attend to activities for up to 10 minutes<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Cannot repeat up to at least 3 numbers<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; font-size: 1rem; line-height: 1.714285714;\">By age 4 years the child:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Is not understood by family and\/or caregivers<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Is not understood by individuals they don\u2019t associate with regularly<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Does not have a vocabulary of close to 1,500 words<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Cannot express complex ideas in short sentences<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Cannot understand basic prepositions such as on, in, under, beside<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Does not use past tense verbs correctly<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Cannot be asked to repeat without becoming sensitive<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Does not understand \u201cwhy\u201d and \u201chow\u201d questions<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Cannot identify basic colors<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Cannot correctly produce t, d, k, g, f<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Cannot count to 10<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; font-size: 1rem; line-height: 1.714285714;\">By age 5 years the child:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Does not have a working knowledge of the grammatical<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">principles of their native language<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Is not understood in all situations by most listeners<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Cannot correctly produce most speech sounds<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Cannot carry out more complex commands of 2-3 steps<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Does not understand right vs. left<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Cannot be asked to repeat without exhibiting frustration<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714;
